How to Upload Your Twitch Banner

There are two ways that you can upload your Twitch Banner and other custom graphics in your Dashboard. After logging in to your Twitch account, follow one of these step-by-step processes:

Step 1

Click on your avatar on the top right-hand side of your screen, then choose "Channel" from the drop-down menu.

Click on your avatar by your name on the top left-hand side of your screen to show your banner.

Hover over the banner, then click "Update Profile Banner."
Step 4

Choose the file you want to upload as your banner from your computer. Your banner will upload and be resized to fit the space (if it is the wrong dimensions).

Step 1

Click on your avatar on the top right-hand side of your screen, then choose "Creator Dashboard" from the drop-down menu.

Click your avatar again (the options will have changed) and choose "Settings."

Find the profile banner section and click the "Update" button.

A box will appear that says "Upload a Photo."

How to Replace Your Twitch Banner

You can replace your Twitch Banner in the same method that you added one, either on your channel screen or through your backend creator dashboard.

How to Change Your Twitch Banner on Mobile

Unfortunately, there isn't currently a way you can change your Twitch banner through the mobile app. If you want to update it using your phone or tablet, you will need to log into Twitch through the browser on your mobile device.

How to Remove Your Twitch Profile Banner

There is currently no way that you can remove or delete a Twitch Profile Banner without replacing it with something else. If you want it to be a blank screen, you will need to upload a solid black banner. There have been many requests to Twitch to allow people to delete or remove the banner, but it still hasn't been added as a feature.

Your Twitch banner will primarily be seen by mobile users, so if you are designing a static image, create it with them in mind. They typically see the center of the banner in the middle of the screen.

Twitch Banner Size Requirements

Twitch banners should be 1200px by 380px. Banners need to be less than 10MB in file size. The acceptable file types are JPEG, PNG, or GIF.

If your banner is a larger ratio than the requested size, Twitch will automatically resize it for you to make it fit in the space. You cannot adjust the placement.
